Combat style
The Cat set is light armor and pieces raise attack power. You fight on the move, chain fast attacks and dodge, because the armor will not hold you like a bear. Aard knocks down a group and you jump straight back into a flurry of hits. Quen is a short safety net, not your main way to fight. When you stand still and just tank, you will not get much from this set.

The four pieces add up to 443 armor. The numbers in the table apply at NG+ start + 35. After that, armor keeps scaling. The chest gains +5 for each further Geralt level, and gloves, trousers, and boots gain +2. The full set picks up +11 armor per level.
When you start NG+ at 50 and you are at level 88, you are three levels above the table. The chest is at 225, gloves at 81, trousers and boots at 85, and the total is 476.
Where to find the diagrams
You buy the map for the mastercrafted Cat set from the blacksmith in Lindenvale. After you read it, objectives pop up on Skellige and Faroe.
The steel sword is in Kaer Gelen. The silver sword lies in a cave east of Harviken. The full armor, all four pieces, lies in a cave south of Trottheim on Faroe. Once you pick up one diagram, the quest usually sends you to the next.
Who crafts it
Here you need a master. Yoana at Crow’s Perch forges the armor (quest Master Armorers), and Hattori in Novigrad forges the swords (Of Swords and Dumplings). The Runewright can craft mastercrafted gear too, but it costs more, and you have the list in the blacksmiths and armorers overview.
