Witcher 3 romance (witcher 3 romance all) offers two main romances (Yennefer and Triss), two side ones (Keira Metz, Shani in the expansion) and a few one-off scenes: Sasha, Jutta, or Syanna. The main lines lock each other out. Side and one-off romances do not block the main choice, but in dialogue you may still hear something like “How is Keira”. Finish the main romance before Isle of Mists. Shani is only in Hearts of Stone, Syanna in Blood and Wine.

Geralt can start a long-term relationship with Yennefer or Triss, a side romance with Keira or Shani, or a one-off scene with Sasha, Jutta, or Syanna.

Main romances: Yennefer and Triss
Yennefer of Vengerberg
You finish the romance with Yennefer mainly in the quest The Last Wish after beating the djinn by picking “I love you too”. Before that you have to go through Skellige and Novigrad with her, where you can flirt, show interest, and let her scold you and mock you.

If you want to end up with Yennefer, finish these quests and do not flirt with Triss. Get the key quests done before you leave for Isle of Mists.
Epilogue: Yennefer arrives in White Orchard in the quest Something Ends, Something Begins. After the Blood and Wine expansion she can wait at Corvo Bianco.
Triss Merigold
You finish the romance with Triss in two quests in Novigrad. A kiss at the ball in A Matter of Life and Death and the choices “Stay with me” and “I love you” at the ship in Now or Never. The full step by step is in the Triss romance guide.
Personally I always end up with Triss. I cannot stand the scolding and mockery from Yennefer. Even though I have read the books, I still pick the same.
When you pick Triss, in the final epilogue Geralt travels with her to Kovir. After you finish the main line in Toussaint, Triss waits at Corvo Bianco.

Side romances
Keira Metz and Shani have their own small romance line, a one-off thing. You can combine both with the main romance.
Keira Metz
You get the romance with Keira by finishing the quests A Towerful of Mice and A Favor for a Friend. At the end of the second quest you accept the invitation to the lake. You meet Keira in Velen, on the main line with the witches of the bog.
After A Towerful of Mice Keira asks you for a favor. Then comes a shared romantic dinner and the scene by the lake.
Then at the tower you decide her fate. You can fight her and kill her. You can let her go to Radovid, Keira later shows up in Novigrad and dies. Or you talk it out with her, she hands over the papers from the tower, goes to Kaer Morhen and helps in the fight against the Wild Hunt.
Shani
You get the romance with Shani in the Hearts of Stone expansion. At the wedding you bring her flowers or a drink and then you agree to a walk by the lake. Shani is a physician from Oxenfurt, she only appears in this expansion.
In the quest Dead Man’s Party at the wedding you cheer Shani up, specifically with flowers or a drink from the feast. Flowers are the better choice. Then comes a walk by the lake and a romantic scene on the boat. Then you meet her one more time in Oxenfurt.
One-off scenes and flirting
Sasha, Jutta, and Syanna are one-off affairs. Pick the right lines or finish the task and you are done.
Madame Sasha
In the quest High Stakes you meet her at the gwent tournament in Passiflora in Novigrad. You have to accept the offer to work together, beat her in the tournament, help find the stolen winnings, and at the end accept the dinner invitation. In the morning you find a letter on the pillow saying she enjoyed it but left. There is nothing more in the game.
Jutta an Dimun
In the quest Iron Maiden you meet her on Skellige near Harviken. You finish one of the tasks she gives you, beat her in a sword fight, and accept the invitation to her home after dark. In the evening you pick the romantic option, the scene plays out, and there is nothing more in the game.
Syanna
In the Blood and Wine expansion, quest The Night of Long Fangs and then Beyond Hill and Dale. You go after Syanna, walk through the fairy-tale illusion, beat the giant in the clouds, and at the end you agree to what she offers you. The scene plays out and there is nothing more in the game.
What you can combine in one playthrough
In one playthrough you can add Keira, Shani, and the one-off scenes to the main romance (Yen or Triss), but not both sorceresses at once.

Epilogue and expansions
Romance does not change Ciri’s fate, only who is with Geralt in the epilogue and who comes to the Corvo Bianco vineyard. Five choices with Ciri and the politics in Novigrad are in the endings guide separately.
Brothels and one-off services
When you do not care about a romance and just want to spend crowns from quests, in Novigrad you have Passiflora. The most expensive house in the city, at Marquise Serenity, the girls Viola, Narcissa, or Amrynn, a night around 40 crowns. It is the same building where you later meet Sasha at gwent, but you can hire a girl any time before that, you just talk to the one you want, upstairs.
The Crippled Kate is cheaper, also Novigrad, Bertha, Mercia, Suzy, or Sweet Nettie, 20 crowns. In Toussaint at The Belles of Beauclair (expansion Blood and Wine) there is Madeleine and two girls with no names in the game, again around 20 crowns. I treat it as an extra on a playthrough, you pay, a short animation, and done. Yen, Triss, and Keira never ask about it and the epilogue does not change.
Common mistakes
- Flirting with Yen and Triss — both leave, epilogue with no partner.
- Isle of Mists without the main romance finished — the line with Yen or Triss fails.
- You send Keira to Radovid — no romance by the lake, a different fate in Novigrad.
