Witcher 3 thrown bed (witcher 3 thrown bed) is a broken bed in the courtyard of Kaer Morhen. Yennefer threw it out the window right after arriving, because Geralt once slept in it with Triss. Vesemir mentions it after you arrive with Uma, and Geralt explains to him that Yen is right. You can find the bed on the grass by the northern wall of the keep anytime during your stay in the valley.

What Vesemir says after you arrive

It happens in the main quest Ugly Baby, when you arrive at the keep with Uma and Yennefer is settling in there. Vesemir talks with Geralt about Yen throwing the bed out the window. Geralt answers that he knows why, and points to the night with Triss in the witchers’ bedroom. The game is recalling the past from the first game.

Where you find the bed in the courtyard

Go down from the tower and head to the courtyard north of the main gate. By the stone wall lie the remains of the bed, mattress and wooden frames in the grass. With witcher senses it does not glow like a normal treasure, but you will see the spot as soon as you pass through the gate toward the lake.

At the same spot you can search the bed remains and find Triss’s earring. I describe how to pick it up and when to return it to Triss in the guide to Triss’s earring.

Dialogue with Yennefer in the Disturbance quest

During the quest Disturbance you climb up to Yennefer in the room in the tower. In the conversation you can start with the bed topic instead of working on the megascope. Yen reacts irritably and offers you choices whether you apologize, or insist on what happened with Triss.

When in The Last Wish you refuse the romance with Yennefer and in the arguments about the bed you pick the harder answers, Yen teleports you into the lake by the keep. Geralt swims to the shore, walks back into the castle and talks with Yennefer again so the quest can continue. When you are in a romance with Yen, Geralt often apologizes on his own and she does not throw you in the water.

Closing

The thrown bed is a small detail around Uma at Kaer Morhen, but it explains the tension between Yennefer and Geralt. On the map you find it in the courtyard by the northern wall and at the remains you can pick up Triss’s earring. More on the romance with Triss and the Witcher 3 review is on the game hub.
